Cambodia to Laos: Asked for a Bribe at the Border I Refused! SE3E38
@TravelWithKohistani
A border officer asked me for a bribe to stamp my passport. I refused—but that was only one twist in my journey from Cambodia to Laos.
In Episode 38 of Journey to the Far East, I leave Phnom Penh hoping to experience village life near Stung Treng, Cambodia. My bus is cancelled, four transport companies pass me from one to another, and when I finally reach the community, filming is not permitted.
I decide to continue into Laos. A storm hits just after crossing the border, and without onward transport arranged, I face a fare three times the normal price to reach Pakse. By the time I arrive, it is dark, I have no mobile internet, and I still need to find my hotel.
