I Had to Leave Tashkurgan… From the Pamirs to Vietnam SE3E29
@travelwithkohistani
After years of waiting, I finally made it to Tashkurgan in the heart of the Chinese Pamirs, where I experienced the culture of the Tajik people of China and attended a traditional wedding in a Tajik village.
But travel doesn't always go according to plan. I wanted to stay longer, visit more villages and experience more of the local culture, but I eventually had to leave Tashkurgan and return to Kashgar.
My original plan was to take a train from Kashgar to Chengdu. But just hours before the train was due to leave, everything changed. At around 3 AM, I made a completely unexpected decision: I bought a ticket to Hanoi, Vietnam.
From the mountains of the Pamirs, to a flight across China, and finally arriving in Hanoi in the middle of the night — a city that wasn't even part of my plan.
Follow along as this unexpected change takes the journey in a completely new direction.
