I Finally Reached China's Pamirs After 10 Years | Tashkurgan | S3E26
After 10 years of waiting and two failed attempts, I finally reached one of the most remote and spectacular destinations in western China—the Pamir Mountains and the historic town of Tashkurgan, home to the Tajiks of China.
In this travel documentary, I begin my journey from Kashgar and drive along the legendary Karakoram Highway (KKH), one of the highest and most scenic highways in the world. Along the way, we explore some of Xinjiang's most breathtaking landscapes, including Baisha (White Sand) Lake, Karakul Lake, and the magnificent Muztagh Ata, a 7,500-meter peak that towers over the ancient Silk Road.
But this is only the beginning of an incredible adventure.
In the upcoming episodes, we'll discover the unique culture and traditions of the Tajiks of China, explore the ancient Stone City of Tashkurgan, learn about the history of the Pamir region, attend a traditional Pamiri wedding in a remote mountain village, and witness the exciting sport of Buzkashi up close.
